Georg Jensen Cufflinks #66 designed by Arno Malinowski

I have a confession. During the pandemic lockdown, I developed a fetish. I fell in love with silver cufflinks. Georg Jensen cufflinks to be exact.

So while the whole world was dressing down, I began dressing up.

What appealed to me about these cufflinks was the change in design styles from the early 1900s to the present day.

So far I have collected 30 plus pairs.

In this series of posts, I’m going to share my favorites.

The first pair I will share with you is number 66 designed by Arno Malinowski. If I am honest, I am not certain why I like this pair of shells so much. I just do. It is hard to have a favourite in a collection like this, but there is something special about this pair.

The box is subtle and when I lift the lid the pair of seashells are nestled in the soft padding within the box. The silver is tarnished with age. They are beautifully curved. So natural.

Arno’s designs have their inspiration in nature rather than industry and geometry.

What can I say? They remind me of the beach. Childhood holidays digging in the sand. They are my feel-good pair.
